Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect your email so you can sign in, and the pins and reports you choose to save. Your home address and your live location stay on your device. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies.
What we collect

What stays on your device
- Your home address (for "Best spots near home") is saved only in your browser or app. It is never sent to us.
- Your live location ("Show my location") is used on your device to put you on the map. It is not sent to us or saved, unless you drop a pin there.
- Map settings (state, color strength, which layers are on) and offline map downloads.
Services that help run PlacerPro
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the database and the "are you human" check on sign-up. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits, pages viewed, the site that sent you, device type, country and page speed. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.
- Resend sends sign-in codes and account emails.
- Search: what you type in search is looked up with the US Census Bureau and USGS place-name services. It is sent without your email.
- Map backgrounds load from the USGS National Map, which sees your IP address like any website.
- Stripe handles payments if you subscribe. We never see or store your card number.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may share it if the law requires, or if the business is sold (the new owner would be bound by this policy).
How long we keep it
- Your account and pins: until you delete your account. Problem reports: kept to fix the map, with your email removed when you delete your account.
- Sign-in codes (with the IP address they came from) and records of which areas you opened: deleted after 30 days.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires (usually 7 years), handled by Stripe.
Your choices
- Delete your account: in the app, My Account → "Delete my account", or on the web at getplacerpro.com/delete-account. Your account, pins, sign-in records and contact messages are deleted right away. We keep only a scrambled code made from your email (it can't be turned back into the address) so a new sign-up with it doesn't start another free trial. Can't sign in? Contact us and we'll delete it within 30 days.
- See or correct your data: contact us and we'll send you a copy.
- Emails: account emails (codes, trial ending, billing) are part of the service. You can turn off "tell me when" and news emails any time.
Security
Sign-in codes are one-time and scrambled before storage, sign-ins are locked after repeated wrong codes, and all traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). No system is perfect; if your data is ever exposed, we'll tell you.
Children
PlacerPro isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll email you or show a notice in the app first.
